Over the past weekend I have seen the following acts...

- Milk Teeth, the Garage, Friday... these guys were really good, every song was special and i was very impressed. Plus i managed to steal a set-list which i will frame and show off once they are as famous as they deserve to be.

- No Hope In New Jersey, the Garage, Friday.... these guys were not very good, they had one good song which will be a single apparently. the lead singer was a fat boy who felt the need to go topless mid-set...sigh.

- The Crimea, the Garage, Friday...brilliant as ever, much better than at the Shed, we met Davey and everyone again, all except Owen, which was a shame cos hes my favourite Crimean. And they played Opposite Ends and Bombay.. which was really brilliant.

- Billy Bragg, Fleadh, Sunday... he was quite good actually, very watchable and really funny and thoughtful between songs plus he played 'To Have and Have Not' which Aaron taught me and Martyn the night before.

- Delays, Fleadh, Sunday... when I first saw these guys a while ago supporting Easyworld at the Zodiac I thought they were amazing, then the album came out and it wasnt as good as I expected but good nethertheless and they were ok here although they didnt play a fantastic set.

- Damien Dempsey, Fleadh, Sunday... apparently hes the new Bob Dylan. Id beg to differ as I thought he was pretty awful, with some cringe-worthy lyrics and a voice that made me want to hit him. Not very good ultimately.

- The Charlatans, Fleadh, Sunday... really really good, which is a surprise as I often find the Charlatans boring on record but they were really good and played a really good set with all the classics, plus ronnie wood from the Rolling Stones came on stage and played with them, i dont know why I mention this because it didnt reall excite me i dont like the Rolling Stones. Only downside was that it was raining really really badly during their set.

- Counting Crows, Fleadh, Sunday... at the time i just wanted them to go away cos i was tired and impatient. on reflection they were very good live - bit annoying and average songs and the singer over did it a bit but they played 'Hangin Around' and a cover of 'Live Forever' by Oasis which is cool. If I had to compare them to a shop it would be Gap. Definately.

- Bob Dylan, Fleadh, Sunday... depressing really. Not a very good set and he did play 'Its All Over Now Baby Blue' but ruined it by playing a different rubbish version. Plus he went an hour and three quarters without saying anything to the crowd, cant sing anymore and was just not very good overall. Luckily on the encore he spoke and played 'Like A Rolling Stone' which was of course fantastic. Still hes a legend.

- Rilo Keily, Shepherds Bush, Monday... Im sure they were good, the first song was anyway but i spent the entire set fixated with the fact that Connor Oberst was standing right in front of me. I turned around and he was there so i went and found Charlie and told her and she agreed then we followed him but didnt say anything, which was a shame. He was also with the guy from the Yeahyeahyeah's but this doesnt matter cos theyre not very good.

- Modest Mouse, Shepherds Bush, Monday... over-rated, listen to Death Cab instead. We saw Connor again during this but he blanked us. This was when i realised i dont like him very much.

- Bright Eyes, Shepherds Bush, Monday... This was also a bit rubbish, he played a short set, poor songs, not very good live, seemed bored again and no encore. Plus to make it worse people were again talking in between the songs and due to the quiet nature of his music i couldnt really here. i suppose he was ok, he played False Advertising which was cool.

On saturday I broke into an abandoned warehouse with Martyn and Aaron which was cool, although we all cut ourselves up a bit. Then again thats what happens when you live on the edge as i clearly do.

Exams are well fun, I really like them.

Otherwise study leave has been cool...ish.

Ive started driving, it hard, im sure ill get myself killed doing it soon or something.

Ive also started trying to play the harmonica. This is also hard, although achievable i think.

Today my song of the day is My Girl by the Temptations, mo-town magic.

Id like to divert everyones attention to this site:

www.livejournal.com/users/_herebedragons_

home to the best new band in the rocking world.

I am getting really sick of Muse. Everyone of their singles just seems to drag on forever and never go away. I don't like them much anymore. That young Mr. Bellamy has ideas above his station although he may be very talented. And also theyre videos are always awful - I dont really like videos anyway but to spend lots of money on bad ones = criminal.

The new Hope of the States song is brilliant, wish Id gone to see them now. So is the new Razorlight song.

Watching the Amp has reminded me how bad the 80s and early 90s were. True it is that the 90s produced some very good bands, the best of which being Suede and not Radiohead because Radiohead are no longer the band they were. Fact. Then again there were the really bad bands who just missed the point like the Happy Mondays. Im yet to decide what side of the fence I place Ocean Colour Scene on, they were my first gig so I feel some sorta odd legiance to them, and they had many many good songs. I wish theyd call it a day though.

The 80's did some unforgivable things though, Genesis and U2 included.

Eurgh Genesis.

When did it become cool to hate Ash? How can anybody hate Ash? They will be the best band at Reading this year I think just because of their summery goodness.

Had my German exam the other day, obviously not brilliant for moral that but maybe I'll get a C :-s

Met the new bassist also, hes called Matt, bit of a stonner/skater type but seems alright, well have to see how he does really.

Soundtrack for this week has been 'Letting Off The Happiness' by Bright Eyes. As with all releases by this artist i find it takes a while to grow on you, the songs (especially on 'Lifted' last album) sound unfinished and unpolished but you grow to love them if you give them a chance. Each song is pretty fantastic really, though can be a bit tough to listen to, Connor does sing with much emotion though. 'The Difference Is In The Shades' would be my favourite off this one or 'Pull My Hair'. The twenty minutes of static at the end of the album only for 'Contrast and Compare' to be played a bit differently is unneccesary but oh well. I don't think its as good as 'Lifted' mind.

Opinions anyone?

This reminds me I have to pay Charlie still...

An Apology:

Hello people, this is for the members of Happy Got Lucky. Apparently in my last journal entry it appeared as if I didnt like them and thought they were shit. This is not true. They were thoroughly entertaining to watch has immense confidence for a band playing a first gig, apart from Steve Dean who looked like he was gunna throw up.
Although the sound wasnt brilliant e.g. micro phones not on, ultmately i enjoyed watching the band, it was fun.
I will be at the next gig, definately, and will look forward to seeing this band again as Im sure they will continue to imporve and improve.

In my mind theyre already better than Blink anyway.

Sun, May. 16th, 2004, 10:12 pm

This weekend has been good. Friday night i went to the multi and lots of people came down like Alex and Purser and John Odro which is always cool and loads of people from my school who never expect to see at those kinda gigs and then loads that you do. It was cool to see Dipesh again, we dont hang out much anymore but we probably will soon and also Karmishma who was a bit drunk.
The bands were....not brilliant. We all went to see Happy Got Lucky, Steve Lewis's band and lend moral support etc... If you want a detailed description ask me elsewhere, one of the band might read it here. On the up-side Steve wrote 'rhys is cool' on his t-shirt which was nice. And true. Nice and true.
Then i went home. I felt quite empty, like i do often these days its strange and not brilliant.
Saturday however was brilliant. Went to Charlies and we practised a bit, then Martyn came over and he watched a bit then we got Chris (Nudstedt, met him on German Exchange) over and he watched and now hes gonna drum for us so weve got that sorted. Then James (ex-here be dragons bassist) came over and listened so we played 4 times to 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 people and everyone said they liked it which was good, especially James who said he 'really really liked it' later and that sort of enthusiasm is very rare from him. Then we left Charlies, she stayed there to do some things which was a BIG MISTAKE on her part as our evening was so cool, we went to Martyns got very drunk went to the park, went back to Martyns, rang people up and sung to them. This was fun.
It will be done again in the not to distant future.
Martyn also hurt himself by falling out of a trolley.
Do I talk about Martyn too much? Maybe its cos hes my only friend...hmmm.
Today work: shit but money apart from those fuckers taxed me £12. That was annoying. THats like a gig ticket. They stole a fucking gig ticket off me. This whole last sentence sounded like happy got lucky. Hey fuckos. Fucking hell man if sound just like the lead singer from Stillwater. But I come from Aylesbury. What do you mean my Californian accent doesnt sound right?
Then I did a timed history essay which if i dont hand in tomorow i will die. And also gotta learn German...at teds tommorow.

I also spent 2 hours messing around with chords and coming up with something before deciding i dont like it and moving on.
Dan is at Hope of the States tonight and im not, its not big and its not clever.

Bye bye bye bye bye.

Wed, May. 12th, 2004, 08:16 pm

This week has been mostly consisting of schooling and working. Not brilliantly fun.
On the up-side the band is taking shape very nicely.
So far our set consists of the following songs
- The Year We Got It Right
- New York Is Over
- (Unitled) Charlies Song
- (Untitled Also) By The Cocaine Towers
- Asleep At The Wheel
- (Untitled) This Is A Nightmare
- Wagon Wheel (Lou Reed cover song)
- The secretly secret track
- These songs are yet to be written but in the works...
-
-
-
-
And that is all. But theyre all really good, i promise.
I have become so sick of a certain element of life recently its horrible.
On the up side I got a ticket to the FleadH Festival in London yesterday. Its gunna be so cool, the following acts are those that I will be going to see:
- Bob Dylan, cos hes a legend.
- The Charlatans, not to hot on these guys but no-one else is playing
- Counting Crows, ditto.
- Delays, i used to think they were perhaps the best new band id heard in a long while but the albums not what I thought. Still theyre good, Nearer Than Heaven is still the best single of last year.
- Fionn Regan, i saw him supporting Turin Brakes a couple of years ago and havent heard anything since but apparently his new EP is a bit special so I might have to get myself a copy.

I am also rediscovering Led Zeppelin recently. I loved them for a while then not so much but i remember what all the fuss is about this week. So much better than Franz Ferdinand its not true.
This week my Cd of the week is Bright Eyes, Letting Off The Happiness. Its not quite 'Lifted' but its sounding quite good. Plus im going to see him and Modest Mouse soonish at Shepherds Bush. I hope he seems more enthusiatic this time, last time he looked half asleep and bored.
Has anyone seen the new reading additions? Theres a couple of good bands, and more shit ones. British Sea Power are playing which will be cool, The Eighties also, the 22-20s, young heart attack, the ordinary boys and the stills. These should be good. and of course The Roots who i love.

I hate school.

Sun, May. 9th, 2004, 05:16 pm

The weekend has been ok in places dull in others.

On Friday after school, me and Charlie and Charlies mum went to Leicester to see the Crimea. It was a bit of a trek, but worth it cos theyre so good. When we got there we hung arounf in Leicester for a bit, as we had to wait for Charlies brother to turn up...turns out Leicester is a hole, it didnt help that it was raining but it was just nasty. Dont go there.
The gig was in a venue probably Leicesters equivalent to the Hop Pole only a bit bigger..People were mostly there for the first band 'Japonica' who were quite good they were kinda quite rock and roll-ish but mixed with other things...i thought maybe Audioslave mixed with The Music, strange yes but they were quite good, and the drummer was brilliant. Following this were The Call...what a boring name, they couldve given themself a fighting chance but following the name i didnt care how good they were. It was quite late by this point anyway and I was impatient to see the Crimea. These guys were pop-rock, i suppose maybe catchy the lead singer pissed me off and danced around a bit annoyingly.

Between these bands we met Davey Crockatt. That wont mean anything to most of you, but he is formerly of The Crockatts and now of the Crimea. He was really cool, he talked to us about how the band are close to getting signed to Warner, trying to play Reading this year and he showed us the set-lists for the show. We asked him to play different songs but then he explained that he couldnt sing most of them anymore. He didnt really look like a rockstar, more like a skinny builder you see walking the streets of aylesbury on his lunch break looking for beer, and he had really bad teeth. He was really cool though, and the set was really good, they played 'White Russian Galaxy', 'Baby Boom', Miserablist Tango', 'Lottery Winners on Acid' and 'Howling at the moon won't make it better' from Tragedy Rocks and a couple b-sides and new songs, all of which were very good. It was really impressive and kinda sad to see them playing such small venues when they should be much bigger. We managed to grab half a set list each after the gig then trek home which seemed to take hours and hours.

I owe the following people the following money
- £115 Reading Money to Martyn
- £17 Bright Eyes money to Charlie.

Hmpf.

This week I have been listening to 'Messenger In The Camp' by Seafood, its really good methinks very different to the others but still good. I will have to get the new album when my finances allow me.

Mon, May. 3rd, 2004, 02:41 pm

Me and Martyn have been loving King Adora this week.
Maybe this is because we went to see them on Monday. The gig was a bit better than Seafood on Thursday partly because King Adora have better songs that are more fun to listen to but also partly because of Maxi and the fact that hes so much more interesting than David.
This is why Easyworld can try my patience occasionally, apart from the very very good songs Dave pisses me off sometimes...it seems theyre a bit annoyed at bands who are controversial for mere attention as highlighted by their whole 'No psuedo lesbian videos, no latex blah blah blah..' thing. And the band statement I read somewhere describing them as a typical hardworking band who writes songs and tour and that is all, as if this is cool. But its not because rockstars are supposed to be controversial. If a rockstar where to walk the street you would expect to look at him and think 'wow hes cool' not 'hmm another guy with short hair and a nice black leather jacket'. Many good bands would be even better if this would happen ;Snow Patrol should loose the baggy t-shirts and indie style image and instead add a sex show into live performances. Seafood should take little Stereophonic blow up models on stage with them and beat them up. The models should be filled with animal blood to add to the effect and Mull Historical Society should change their name to 'The Mull Historical FUCK YOU society' and become some sort of sleuth villain terrorising Mull. This would make things interesting. But no-one, no-one is as boring as Incubus...these guys should thus leave it. So should the Foo Fighters.

Apparently the Rasmus won Finnish Pop Idol. Amusing. Was there really no-one better?! Theyre almost as good as H-I-M this lot, only even more boring..i know more boring that HIM...who woulda thought it possible. And a bit more mainstream. Maybe. HIM are the most mainstream rock band around today...hint to you kids out there, dont buy tipex pens and draw that stupid fucking pentagram on you bags and your pencil cases and then go to school and whisper 'fuck you' behind you teachers back and think Villo Valiodickhead would be proud of you cos he wouldnt.
There is not too much Britney Spears style pop around today there is too much rock music around today.

I just got home from work, and some guy there was telling me how hes gonna write a book about how Kurt Cobain was murdered. This, i then explained, was unoriginal and then i showed him why by taking him to waterstones in our lunch hour and making him look at every Kurt Cobain book around. Tsk some people.

And I dont care if this is my 59th entry in a row including something about music, that was your 59th update about politics that no-one cares about - that was for Matts benefit.

Im going to go smoking now.

Fri, Apr. 30th, 2004, 03:04 pm

this week i have got very little sleep, making me unhappy and tired.

Last night was Seafood, Distopia and Verbal Kink at the Zodiac.

Verbal Kink - Hmm awful really. Just not very good...the drummer looked bored and the guitarist was the most 'I wanna be Kurt Cobain' person ever - he even looked like him. So at the end of the gig (they acted as if they were headlining 'um you guys should stick around for Seafood' - really?! really really really? i only came here to see Verbal Kink but you mean Seafood are playing too?!?!?! wow....) he threw his guitar into the crowd and walked across the metal pole infront of the stage. You half expected him to jump into the drums ala Lithium. Nuff said, they were pants but nothing NOTHING like....

Distopia - Worst band Ive seen. Yes I include Hidden Ajenda in that. And Metallica. God. Ok so shit punk metal as in shit chords played really fast and as loud as you can. Theyre set list included songs called 'Milf' and 'Wolf' and 'New Song' - all these names are absolutely terrible by the way. These guys, like Verbal Kink, were clearly getting their one and only break at the semi big time tonight and they werent gunna let it go. unfortunately i dont think their microphones were working because you could hear no vocals NO vocals at all. Which Im sure was a good thing i hate all those 'I come from Birmingham but I sing like a Californian' voices. They were a bit of a joke actually. After one of the songs the drummer just jumped up and said 'Its so good!! So good!...sorry I really like that song its dappa' - this was not true, cos the song about as good as listening to your mum hoover or walking home from your bus stop on a really nasty wet day. Or waking up and remembering you have to go to school when for the first 2 minutes of being concious you thought it was Saturday. They played to long, someone should really talk them out of this whole band thing, theyre not cut out for it, because they were AWFUL. Some guy came up to me after Seafood had finished and asked me if I like Distopia and I told him I did. This was a lie. I feel a bit guilty about lieing to him, but I think he was probably a roadie and im sure it made him feel like his life had purpose.

Seafood - I haven't really liked them for very long and Id be lieing if I said I thought they were brilliant. I look upon seafood as grunge mixed with indie - exiting in some places, dull in others. They played an acceptable set - Cloaking, Western Battle, Pleasurehead, Splinter, new single 'Good Reason' which is really good and a few other new and old songs. The new songs sound a bit more mellow but there was one good one called 'He Walks Against Me'. That was good. Sounds a bit like 'He Collects Dust' from When Do We Start Fighting... maybe theyre gunna make a series out of this mysterious 'he' character. That said Im still gonna go buy 'As The Cry Flows - new album, out Monday I believe. They set up their own equipment aswell which was a bit unglamourous and was kinda an anticlimax for when they came on stage but made up for this with a moment of pure genious which i will explain to whoever wants to know should they ask me. I wish they'd played 'People Are Underestimated' or 'Easy Path' or 'This Is Not An Exit' but they didn't. They were still pretty good. And David Line speaks very much like Dav Ford from Easyworld which is suspicious. Also I stole about 50 postcards from the merchandise stall at the end so if anyone wants one....and I stole his water bottle from the stage which Charlie currently has, maybe shes thrown it out without realising the huge A List Celebrity that has drunk from it. Not the best gig Ive seen all year, but pleasant enough. I hope they play Reading.

Today I have spent the day doing my Comms Preparation folder which was in for this morning. Then I went into school and handed it in, then I came home.
Currently I am listening to 'Coursework' the bonus CD from When Do We Start Fighting, its got a funny version of 'Similar Assassins' on it. Which they didnt play either! Which is annoying. Oh well.

Tue, Apr. 27th, 2004, 09:15 pm
King Adora, At Risk, This Town Needs Guns...

Blah blah blah SCHOOL, EATING, SLEEPING, SCHOOL etc...

Last night was King Adora, At Risk and This Town Needs Guns at the Zodiac.

This Town Needs Guns - Hmmm not brilliant to be honest ive always thought bands needed stage presense but these guys didnt have it. You look good; you feel good, you feel good; you play good and they didnt look good which of course had implicatations on the rest of the above. The shame is that with a re-vamped image and maximised potential they might be ok...the drummer was well out of it though, not drunk or anyway just what he played was either a) wrong or b) really poor. They had a nice name though, I thought at least.

At Risk - Seen them twice now, very nice lookin lady singer, we overheard Maxi commenting on this during their set. Coupla good songs, alot of nothing songs, shit gothy lyrics and ulitmately quite annoying. They also supported at Kasabian and these guys have a shit name.

King Adora - Sleezy. To say the least. We saw the band walking around the Zodiac prior to their performance, watched Maxi getting drunk and looking like a...mess. The others were cool though, and I briefly met Maxi as he was exiting the toilet, shook his hand :-s maybe a bit dodgy but yeah he was fucking scary, very tall and his hair was so 80's it became a joke.
THe set was an hour at the most...and no encore. Apparently they play very short sets normally but it would be nice if theyd played a couple more songs...maybe 'Big Isn't Beautiful' or 'Aftertime' i dunno. The songs they did play were good: all the band looked really good apart from Maxi. He is a mess and a half. Drunk out his face sluring his words, telling the audience to fuck off, and of course the now customary dig at NME (fair enough King Adora havent really enjoyed the best of times with those guys) but you really feel that hes reaching the end of the line now, he reminds me of richie from the manic street preachers: i wouldnt be surprised if he just goes missing. I think hes depressed by the lack of success the band have had, they were after all hyped as the next big thing by Melody Maker and then dropped etc... The new album hasnt done brilliantly either, i hadnt heard any of the promo singles taken from it and i certainly havent seen any adverts of promos for it anywhere at all. Still the band do have a very dedicated fan base and they really shouldnt take advantage of it because theyre not the best thing to happen to rock'n'roll ever.
Song-wise a mediocre set. They played 'Bionic', 'The Law', 'Smoulder' and 'Suffocate' from the first album and a few from the new album, highlights including 'Drag' (T-Rex anyone?), 'Sweet Abandon' (ahem Smashing Pumpkins), 'Maniac Love', 'Kamizake' and '9'' of Pure Malice'. They were good live, Charlie says better before the decline though and the most entertaining part of the evening was watching young Maxwell show us what a waster he really is.
Here is a picture for you to oggle at:
http://www.kingadora.com/day1.htm
scroll down you cant miss him, wearing the 8 year old girls top.
That said, whats more rock'n'roll, especailly today?

Best Song? Bionic/Suffocate/The Law/Kamikaze.

Seafood on Thursday, should be good, hope they play 'People Are Underestimated' and thank god At Risk are not supporting, I was fearing they were a permanent slot downstairs at the Zodiac.

Sun, Apr. 25th, 2004, 08:32 pm

This weekend was like manic depression. Saturday was really good. Sunday was really bad. Friday was a happy medium.

Friday, band praccy at Charlies. Then Martyn came over and we entertained him with an amazing 6 track set, 7 actually including the secret track. He liked it, hes jealous so he tried to hide it, but i know we're his new favourite band. Plus we have a new cover, Wagon

Saturday, saw my Danielle then I went to Ted's with some people and we smoked alot, drunk alot and talked a little bit.

Sunday, the worst day of the week, some would venture worse than Mondays, I have done nothing. N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

Here Be Dargons might be supporting John Otway soon, which would be cooooool as a first gig. Obviously well upstage him cos hes shit but it will be so cool. Aparently we can do about 6 songs and we have 7...including a cover...so we have the luxury of choice.

I bought the Thirteen Senses single for 99p its brilliant, so is the b-side. Hurrah for thirteen senses.

Until next time.

Sat, Apr. 24th, 2004, 10:55 am

Next person who tells me Art Brut are good is getting a lecture on how they are trying to be a pretentious indie snob but failing.
They have a message? Yes they do. So do the Darkness.
So shut the fuck up. Some people will pretend to like anything to seem alternative.

Sun, Apr. 18th, 2004, 06:00 pm

A few words about Mirno:

- the singer thinks hes cool. Hes actually a mix between Craig Nichols of The Vines and someone else whos pretentious and annoying.the guitarist with black hair is an ultimate cock. oh dear where do i start with this guy? he thinks hes in a glam rock band but hes a stupid lil' skater at heart. this he needs to come to terms with. at the gig on friday he wrote 'fuck head' on his stomach and showed us all....twat. they act like theyve made it. this they havent. they have merchandise stalls and all. silly people dont they realise theyre playing the hop pole? the lyrics are awful. truely i promise you this you ca nread them all here: www.mirno.com (which btw is a very nice website, especially for a band who havent actually made it yet). the songs might be catchy and appear good but most of them are piked off other bands and are similar in style and substance. it is therefore, their image alone that carries them although dressing pop music up as 'glam' will eventually mean they fall apart. the girl guitarist is very good though, the drummer pisses me off. everything they claim to hate on their website they are!! 'we hate pretentious people who have no reason to be'...

but i still hate cameras also.

Sun, Apr. 18th, 2004, 12:00 pm

The camera kids are beginning to piss me off.
Oooh look a picture of a motorway, or a stop sign or a random person in the street. I appreciate theres probably hidden messages in what they photograph but still it seems silly.
That said, some of the photos look quite cool. One in three id say.

This weekend has been a bit shit really. Friday I dossed round town, and got the Delays album - bit of a dissapointment on first listen, BUT THEY DO HAVE AN EXCELLENT MESSAGE TO PUT ACROSS A BIT LIKE FRANZ FERDINAND. Or not. Then Dan came into town and we hung around, then headed over to the Hop Pole to watch Mirno and some other band. They were both ok, neither as good as HBD though.
Saturday nothing, I slept over Martyns friday night, then headed home before heading back into Bedgrove for a\ breif band practise, then into town, then home. Pointless.
Sunday is today...so i dont have much to write about it yet
but maybe great events will unfold.

King Adora is on the 26th and I stil havent got the new album :-s Martyn has though and it sounds like T-Rex and the Smashing Pumpkins and King Adora all on one album, not sure if its as good as vibrate you though. Then i have Seafood like 2 days afterwards, which should be good, although it should have been ages ago - damn him and his collapsed lung.

Reading Weekend tickets have sold out so que all wannabies to start saying things like this:
'Oh no! Have they sold out? Oh Im really gutted!'
or...
'Argh I was going to buy my ticket tomorrow!'
or...
'The lineups shit anyway, Im too good for it, I only like obscure electronica bands, even though they might not be as good, they make me look cooler'.

So the main stage might be shit. It always is. Headliners are never the highlight of any festival.

Thu, Apr. 15th, 2004, 11:17 am

i really love this crimea album charlie lent me. plus its signed! wow...

Wed, Apr. 14th, 2004, 08:07 pm

Ok guys we all know that there are many problems in this world...hunger...aids...starving africans...racism...sexism...50 Cent playing Reading.....
so go here to stop this:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/597453895?ts=1081883584&sign[partnerID]=1&sign[memberID]=748092166&sign[partner_userID]

Its not the hunger site, which many of you have complained at though if you're interested...

www.thehungersite.com

Top link offers a chance for people to campaign against 50 cent playing reading this year, cos hes a homophobic prick. Obviously he'll pull out anyway...what the fuck are his 'boys' gunna do when 50,000 people start bottling him? hes a pussy anyway.

theres also a section where you can fill in who youd rather see to prevent someone shit taking over like...ohh for example The Rasmus. My recomendations for this slot: Silverchair, David Bowie (Why not!!), Easyworld as Charlie suggested, Idlewild, The Coopers!!!! (they cant play radio one again), the Datsuns, Beastie Boys, or someone good.

Otherwise today i went to my beloved Danielles house we hung around and then went to town, met Ted, Brandon and Foster then I went to Charlies and had another Band Praccy now im home and ive got to write my german oral. I hate having to do stuff like this.

Wed, Apr. 14th, 2004, 11:41 am

Band practise yesterday round Ted's, with drums and a mini audience to watch us. It was really good the song sounded really good with the drums added - im very proud of it, anddd we got nice feedback from everybody which is always nice.
Then we went to Alisons dinner party...which was...well me and Charlie turned up and everyone was doing the whole socialising thing so i went for about 50 cigarettes outside with various people and played guitar with Charlie for a bit before making our excuses and leaving. It was a bit boring to be honest, but you could tell theyd put a lot of effort into it which was nice.
Nice is the word of this entry.
Then i spoke to Danielle on the phone for a bit before falling asleep.
Today who knows what events will unfold.
Im beginning to really like the Crimea album Charlie lent me, especially the first song 'White Russian Galaxy' although I swear they stole it from somewhere!....
